My blog is all about the famous outback Australian National Heritage Listed City named Broken Hill, located in the state of New South Wales. I first visited #BrokenHill in 2002 and have returned many times since then. ilovebrokenhill.com will help you discover what's great about this historic mining city, where in the mid 1880's the line of lode, a rich ore body of silver, lead and zinc was found. You will find stories about anything related to Broken Hill.

American (USA) readers take note!

Tourism Australia is promoting Australia to America in an innovative competition for American's only, to have the chance to win 52 week long trips to 52 different Australian destinations. You guessed it, Broken Hill is one of those destinations.  In what's known as week 45, 'Discover a Lost World', which is to be taken in May 18-25, 2015, a lucky American entrant will win a week long trip which will incorporate a visit to Broken Hill. I understand travel will be via the Indian Pacific.

I found out about the competition by browsing Twitter. You never know what can pop up on Twitter, there's a wealth of information to be found.

The image in the tweet below is of 'The Twelve Apostles' one of the wonderful sights along the Great Ocean Road in my home state of Victoria. This trip is one of the other 52 destinations in the competition.

The competition closes 21 April 2014, see the following special Tourism Australia related website for more information www.australiasomeday.com .

If you win this trip, I'm sure you will love Broken Hill. Check out this (my) www.ilovebrokenhill.com blog for some of the great things in Broken Hill.

You will actually love any of the 52 locations selected for this competition. Broken Hill isn't the only awesome place in Australia.

Good luck to all the entrants, cheers, Jane Deany
