I first visited #BrokenHill in 2002 and have returned many times since then. ilovebrokenhill.com will help you discover what's great about this historic mining city, where in the mid 1880's the line of lode, a rich ore body of silver, lead and zinc was found. You will find stories about anything related to Broken Hill.

International Women's Day 2015 ... Broken Hill

Wishing the women of Broken Hill, Melbourne and the world over, every opportunity to achieve what they want to in life, on this International Women's Day (IWD) 2015.
IWD (8 March) is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. In some places like China, Russia, Vietnam and Bulgaria, IWD is a national holiday. IWD was first officially celebrated in 1911.

Here is the link to the dedicated website - www.internationalwomensday.com . Australia has 208 official events listed to help celebrate the day.

As the day draws to a close, I hope you've been able to celebrate IWD in some special way, or at least remember the occasion and reflect upon how far women have come, and how far they still have to go to achieve equality.

Cheers, Jane Deany
